How I Got Here

Hello, I'm Yen. I'm a yoga teacher, writer, editor, and founder of The Yoga Edit.
I teach classes, run retreats, and work with individuals and teams on writing and editorial projects. Across all of this, my focus is the same: clarity, structure, and a more thoughtful approach to practice.
I came to yoga after years working in journalism, where I wrote, edited, and led coverage across newsrooms. That training still shapes how I think and work today — paying attention to detail, asking better questions, and trying to understand what’s actually happening beneath the surface.
The Yoga Edit grew out of that instinct. It’s a space to look more closely at yoga as it is practised, taught, and lived — not just as an idea, but as a system shaped by people, culture, and context.
Whether I’m teaching, writing, or working with others, I’m interested in the same thing: how we move, how we think, and how we make sense of both.
